It was a quieter week on the racing front for our juniors, with some of our members busy representing their schools at Sports Day events. We did, however, have one young athlete take on the challenge of a mountain run – representing Northern Ireland, while several others were in action at local Parkruns. This week brought us some great weather along with some great results for our junior runners. Many of our runners will be taking part in the schools’ districts and Belfast primary school XC final this week, so we wish them the best of luck. After almost two months of constant rain, the sun eventually appeared at the very end of February, and then went away again. As a very wet and gloomy January came to a close, we can reflect back on a much quieter week. The Cross Country Schools Districts were cancelled due to a weather warning on Tuesday which left Ormeau Park flooded. They have been rescheduled to Tuesday 3 February, but the course will still be very wet and muddy. Good luck to all of our juniors running for their schools. A much quieter week after the great successes of Cross Country during November and early December. Instead of taking part, we got to watch the top athletes participate at the European Cross Country on Sunday morning. There was not a bit of mud to be seen! Sunday 9 November was the absolute highlight of 2025 for the NBH Juniors. On a sunny and mild November day, up in Co. Donegal, we had a great number of young harriers who took part in the Ulster Uneven Even Cross Country event. Everyone who took part was fantastic and did themselves, their parents and their club proud.
