North Belfast Harriers junior training takes place at the Girls’ Model.
Our club provides structured training sessions led by qualified, highly experienced, and fully vetted coaches. Many of our coaches are also runners and parents of children attending training. Sessions follow recognised, age-appropriate training methods.
- Tuesday nights: Focus on endurance.
- Thursday nights:
- Older, more experienced athletes focus on speed work.
- Younger children are encouraged to develop friendships, coordination, and fundamental skills through games involving running, jumping, and throwing.
We strongly encourage all young members to take part in races—particularly cross-country—so they can experience both the highs and lows of competition. Parents are asked to support their children in participating in the club’s target races.
Our sessions are designed to be fun, enjoyable, and fitness-focused, whether children choose to continue athletics long-term or not.
