Happy new year to everyone. The beginning of 2024 brought us some dry and sunny weather but at the cost of freezing temperatures. As a result, both the Waterworks 5K and Waterworks 2K parkruns were cancelled due to an icy course. Nevertheless, a few excellent runs by some of our juniors kicked off an amazing start to the year. Malcolm Cup This year, the Malcolm Cup was sandwiched between the Even and Uneven All Ireland championships. Some of our juniors ran and obtained excellent results. The start of October brought back some settled weather which resulted in some great running conditions after the horrendous conditions at last weekend’s TJ McElmeel XC event. Lots of our juniors ran this week and hopefully that means that they are gearing towards peak fitness for the Ulster XC Championships on 21 October. The Junior Report makes a stunning comeback after a few quiet summer months and a recruitment drive which now means that we have 8 authors.
