NORTH BELFAST HARRIERS JUNIOR REPORT 2 OCTOBER – 8 OCTOBER 2023

The start of October brought back some settled weather which resulted in some great running conditions after the horrendous conditions at last weekend’s TJ McElmeel XC event. Lots of our juniors ran this week and hopefully that means that they are gearing towards peak fitness for the Ulster XC Championships on 21 October.

B & I Junior Championship 2023

At the beginning of the month, the British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships took place in Peebles, Scotland. Eoin McConnell was selected to run for this event. Eoin finished in 17th place which is an amazing result, considering the very high standard of runners taking part. Well done Eoin.

School Running

Many of our junior members ran for their schools during the week. They did some excellent running and no doubt their NBH training has resulted in some great performances for their schools. The events were: Brothers Schools XC (Clonliffe, Dublin) and Tras Tíre na nGaelscoileanna (Gaelscoil XC, Belfast).

The dark nights have arrived, and the club require help putting up and taking down spotlights at our Tuesday and Thursday evening training sessions.
