It was a busy week for the Harriers as they competed in events across the world.

NI Masters Cross Country Championships and Trials – Saturday 7th October

Several Harriers took part in the trials to qualify for the Irish Masters Cross Country team. Well done to all who participated and those who were selected:

Galway Bay Marathon – Saturday 7th October

Ray Cameron took part in this flat and fast marathon, finishing in 4:02:55 – well done Ray!

 

UltrasGB Glasgow to Edinburgh – Saturday 7th October

Kevin Crossley braved the persistent rain to complete 56 miles between Glasgow and Edinburgh in an amazing time of 10 hours 39 minutes, placing 117th out of 454 runners and earning himself a silver medal – well done Kev!

 

Dundrum GR8 Run

Hosted by Murlough AC this popular race provides a mix of road, trail and beach terrains. Well done to everyone who took part.

Munich Marathon – Sunday 8th October

Over 4000 runners took part in the 40th Munich Marathon as it wound its way around the beautiful Bavarian capital taking in the extensive English Gardens and the historic Marienplatz. Maurice Palmer represented the Harriers and achieved a time of 4:08:58 – well done Maurice!

 

Chicago Marathon – Sunday 8th October

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is known for its flat and fast course. The race starts and finishes in Grant Park and has produced four world records. Elisoa Crawford placed 1st in the F50-54 category with an amazing finish time of 2:53:19 while Phil McIlwrath completed the course in 5:09:59. Chicago marathon was the age group world championships, meaning Elisoa is now the F50 world marathon champion – well done on an amazing achievement!

 

Lisbon Marathon – Sunday 8th October

With a 7am start due to the warm weather this flat and fast course starts in the beachside city of Cascais and treats runners to some beautiful scenery along the route. Seamus Leheny completed the course in 3:37:31- well done Seamus!

 

Armagh 10 mile Road Race – Sunday 8th October

Several Harriers made the trip to Armagh for this popular road race. Well done to all.
