North Belfast Harriers Junior Report 8th – 14th September 2025

As we power through September the weather forecast continues to look promising!!! Promising for a very wet and muddy cross country season. Mother nature is obviously a fan of muddy fields and challenging conditions and wants to ensure that conditions are “JUST PERFECT” for our junior stags as they prepare to lace up their spikes for what is anticipated to be another very successful season.

British and Irish Mountain Running Championships

First this week we are off to the beautiful and scenic Welsh mountains where the British and Irish Mountain Running Championships took place.

A huge congratulations to Eoin McConnell and Oscar Purvis who were part of the Northern Ireland and Ulster team competing in the U20 age category helping their team finish in a very impressive 4^th place.

Congratulation lads.

Park Run – 5km

Saturday morning saw 18 of our junior stags take to their local parks and complete the 5km park run. Special mention this week goes to Oisin Caldwell, Cohen Turley and Erin O’Regan who all achieved PB at the weekend. Well done to each and every one of you.

Junior Park Run

Sunday morning saw 20 dedicated juniors attend three different park runs to take on the 2km course. Special mention this week goes to Oisin Caldwell and Annie Cullen who both achieved PB’s, and also congratulations to Sion McAllister and Tanoj Yakkanti who both finished in first place at their respective junior park runs.

TJ McElmeel Cross Country

We would like to wish all of our juniors who are competing in the TJ McElmeel Cross Country event on Sunday 21^st September 2025 at Palace Demanse in Armagh the very best of luck.

Times and course are below. Please ensure all competitors arrive in good time before their race to collect race numbers, have a walk around the course and warm up.

If your Child(ren) have been attending training regularly and are enjoying it, can we please ask parents to go into membermojo and pay their membership (if not already done so).

The Ulster Club Championships are coming up soon and the club can only enter those members that are fully registered i.e. membership is paid. Link below for ease of reference.

Training

Training carries on as normal every Tuesday and Thursday. Due to the changeable weather conditions please ensure all juniors are wearing appropriate clothing.

Please also ensure that all children go to the toilet prior to attending training so as not to interrupt sessions.
