A very quiet week to report on, with only Parkruns to highlight. Nevertheless, the much improved weather has producedsome great performances and PBs from our juniors.

Well done to all the juniors who made the Sunday morning junior Parkrun after the clocks went forward and lost an hour of precious sleep. Congratulations to Sophia and Eimear who pushed each other along at the front of the pack for the whole 2K route and achieved brilliant new PBs. Georgia and Luke also ran together and also achieved excellent times and PBs. Last PB of the day was from Eva who ran fantastically.

Both Cormac and Oscar must have had their Weetabix (no intentional product placement from this author) because they flew round the course, in first and second place. Both achieved PBs – well done guys. Well done also to Niamh who also got a PB in a fantastic time and was the third lady home. Our other PBs came from Georgia, Eva and Ellen – congratulations and keep up the fantastic running. Well done to all our juniors who ran on Saturday morning. This run provides a great opportunity to meet up with all your friends whether you are running the course quickly, at tempo pace or simply jogging round.

AthleticsNI ask that we register all our Junior athlete members with them (needless to say we also have to pay per older child) and if not registered with them there are a number of races the athletes cannot run (Championship races).
I intend to register the junior athletes over the next two weeks but will only register those children that have paid club membership.
If you have not done so, please pay your child’s membership for this year, not just for AthleticsNI registration but to cover the club’s track rental cost etc.
The club have also provided the kids with the training schedule for the next few months along with an agreed warmup routine.
Training as normal every Tuesday and Thursday at Girls Model track from 6pm
Please make sure the kids are warmly kitted out for training as the evenings are still cold.
Also can we remind parents to speak to their children and remind them that there are no toilet facilities at the Girls Model Track.
