After a busy Winter season winning the Cross Country League, North Belfast Harriers continue their success in XC.

Sat 4th Mar 2023: Cross Country Championships.

Limerick University was the setting for the Irish Universities Athletics Association’s Cross Country Championships.

The overall team event was won by Dublin City University helped along in no small measure by our own Róise Roberts who came second in the female heat out of a field of over 80 athletes.

Well done Róise.

Sat 4th Mar 2023: Shanes Castle.

Shanes Castle played host to the ever-popular series of races ranging from 10k to an Ultra. Six Harriers took part in the 10k, half and full marathon which took the runners across mixed terrain of trails, tarmac and footpaths.

Sat 4th Mar 2023: Bundoran 10 mile.

The Bundoran 10 Race took place in the County Donegal seaside town with a stunning coastal route taking in the Wild Atlantic Way and the coastline up to county Leitrim finishing via the Roguey Walk at Main Beach Bundoran.

Three Harriers made the journey to Co. Donegal to complete the race.

Sat 4th Mar 2023: Carlingford Half Marathon.

The Half Marathon began in the picturesque village of Carlingford and took in the beautiful surrounds of the Cooley peninsula, Ballagan Point, Mourne Mountains & Carlingford Lough. The race finished back in Carlingford village.

Four Harriers competed in the race.

Sun 5th Mar 2023: Glaslough 5k.

Glaslough Harriers AC hosted this 5k race around their newly designed course in the village of Glaslough Co. Monaghan.

David Clarke competed in a field of almost 250 runners coming 11th overall and first in his age group (M60) with an impressive time of 17:25.

Sat 4th Mar 2023: PARKRUNS

A total of 71 North Belfast Harriers took part in 14 parkruns.

Well done to Natasha HENDERSON, Una McCONNELL and Cathy MCCOURT on being the First Lady Finishers at Ecos Parkrun, the Valley Parkrun and Carlow Town Parkruns respectively. Also to Max REID on being the first finisher at the Waterworks.

Congratulations to Matthew MCCOMBE, Charlie MCLARNON, Natasha HENDERSON, Caoimhe ROBINSON, Una MCCONNELL, Cathy MCCOURT and Conor O’RAWE on achieving PBs.

Well done to everybody who took park in this week’s parkruns and a big thank you to the army of volunteers.
