All Irelands – Uneven Cross Country
The All Irelands – Uneven Cross Country took place in Garryann, Co. Cork on Sunday 4 December. The standard was extremely high consisting of the qualifiers from each provincial race in Ireland. Three of our juniors made the long trip to take part in an extremely harsh and muddy course in the bitter cold.
Thomas Coy was first up in the 2500m U13 Boys. Earlier that morning, he took a quick jog up the steep steps of Blarney Castle to encounter the Stone for good luck. Thomas came a respectable 89th in a very tough race.
Next up was Holly Collins in the 5000m U17 Girls. Holly came in 60th among the best runners from all over Ireland. Well done Holly.
Finally, it was the turn of Declan McGinley in the 5K U17 Boys. Declan came 128th on the very hilly and muddy course and was happy with his effort. Great going Declan.
Well done to all three who made the very long trip down to Cork to carry the flag for North Belfast Harriers. Great going!
