Sunday 9 November was the absolute highlight of 2025 for the NBH Juniors. On a sunny and mild November day, up in Co. Donegal, we had a great number of young harriers who took part in the Ulster Uneven Even Cross Country event. Everyone who took part was fantastic and did themselves, their parents and their club proud. The day also brought great individual and team success with 3 individual Ulster title winners and 1 Ulster team winner. Let’s dig in, start with the very youngest members and work our way up!
U9 Girls

Great effort by the U15 girls saw them just miss out on all-Ireland qualification. This team will have its day again for sure and can potentially be very strong. Individually, we saw Cassie Curran storm to an Ulster title in a very dominant performance. Leila Jones also had an excellent race to finish in 4th place. Both will qualify for Dublin and will no doubt give the girls from the other provinces a run for their money. Watch this space!

What a team! The results above speak for themselves. Great numbers and great results also. This team scored 40 points to win team Gold ahead of second place with more than double their points. Cormac Leheny led the pack and won comfortably by a good distance. Ruarcc came a very impressive 5th and continues to get stronger and faster. Cormac Carabine was very young for this race but still managed a top 10 position which is superb. Great running all round by all these lads and we will see them all again in Dublin in a few weeks time.

Thomas Coy ran an outstanding race to claim his second Ulster title in 2 weeks. He kept with the winning pack and made a move during the final lap which was unanswered. A great run by Leo at this higher age group should really help him when he runs U16 again in two weeks. New member Joe Eager had a great debut run. Now if only we had one more 2009 or 2010 male athlete we would have a fantastic team!
U19 Girls

Please ensure all Juniors bring additional layers of clothing for warm up, post running and in case they have to sit out at any time as the evenings are getting very cold now.
Also, if any parents can lend a support at pack up time with the taking down of the mobile lights that would be appreciated – means everyone gets home in good time!
