Home Nations Last One Standing Championship 2025

The home nations LOS championship took place this weekend in Blair Atholl estate near Pitlochry in Scotland. The 4.1mile loop proved a good test, with 640ft of ascent /descent per loop and the forest trails getting trickier especially in the hours of darkness due to the incessant rain.

Greg McClure captained team Ireland whose 10 members had a combined total of 114 loops, a respectable total but only good enough for the wooden spoon this year. Greg himself ran a total of 15 loops (62.5miles), timing out on his last loop

Biofreeze Irish Runner 10 Mile Race, Sunday 20th July, Phoenix Park, Dublin
Joe Gallagher was the sole representative of North Belfast Harriers to make the journey to Phoenix Park, Dublin, for the Biofreeze Irish Runner 10 Mile Race. Joe finishers in 1 hour: 12 min: 42 secs, 302nd overall, 5th in the M65 category.
This event was the third in a series of 5k, 5 mile and 10 mile races, organised by Athletics Ireland and incorporating the Irish National Championship. There were over 2,500 runners entered in the race, which started and finished in Chesterfield Avenue, in the centre of Phoenix Park. Despite the damp conditions in Dublin, there weren’t too many complaints, with some runners saying that they preferred the rain to the heatwave, that challenged the runners in previous weeks.
