As the festive season draws closer, club members were rockin’ around the Ormeau, Gosford and Valley trees this weekend, along with races in slightly warmer climates and the return of Parkruns as more favourable weather greeted us following last week’s storm.
Gosford Forest Trail 10k – Saturday 30th November
Conditions were excellent for the Gosford Forest 10k run, the second in a series of six runs organised by Born2Run. Simon Reeves and Maurice Palmer represented the Harriers in the County Armagh race; Simon crossed the line in 43:19, while Maurice came in a shade under an hour at 59:24.

Seeley Cup 10K – Saturday 30th November
On a pleasant Saturday afternoon, around 800 runners took to Ormeau Park and the surrounding embankment area for one of the biggest events in the running calendar, hosted by Willowfield Temperance Harriers. Now in its 42nd year, the race saw record-breaking runs for some in the field, with 33 club members claiming great results and age category achievements. Congratulations to all!

Valencia Marathon – Sunday 1st December
Steven Walker journeyed to Valencia to take on the ‘pancake flat and undisputedly fast’ marathon route around the city. Finishing on the iconic blue carpet surrounded by the scenic architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences building, Steven clocked an impressive time of 2:59:29.

Turnin Half Marathon – Sunday 1st December
Ray Cameron took on the Turin Half Marathon, describing it as ‘a fantastic event, a lovely run along the River Po.’ He completed the run in a brilliant time of 1:36:22.
