European Champion Clubs Cup Cross Country (Sunday 25th February)
A strong team of Harriers made their European debut this weekend in Albufeira, Portugal in a hugely competitive field. The conditions were favourable, and the team adjusted well to the lack of muck which they had become used to in NI Cross Country fixtures. The route consisted of 5 laps (approx 9.2km) of uneven grass sections and dirt trails, with obstacles such as log jumps thrown in for good measure.
The team finished 18th out of the 31 clubs represented, gaining an incredible experience of racing alongside some of the best professional athletes in Europe today. After his success at being crowned NI & Ulster XC champion only a week prior, Finn McNally led the team in finishing in 32nd position, followed by Matthew Lavery (57th), Conan McCaughey (82nd) and Conal McCambridge (89th) respectively.
Congratulations to the team on this superb achievement, reflecting their hard work and dedication!
Duleek & District AC 5k (Sunday 25th February)
The annual 5k hosted by Duleek District A.C. is advertised as a fast and flat route around the streets of Duleek. The field of 333 runners included our sole representative, Joe Gallagher, who finished 100th with a time of 21:20. Well done Joe!
