Exam weather, podiums and parkruns all in this week’s report. Training continues as usual this week at the Girls model track. Please note there aren’t many track meets left in the season. The next Fab5 meet at Mary Peters is on June 22nd with entries closing on June 17th. Get in while you can.
As ever, we are on the lookout for new volunteer report writers. This is a fantastic way to give back to the club and the community so please contact Margaret or Seamus even if you have availability for a limited time.
The club has 2 new Champions of Ulster
Athletic talent from all over Ulster, including 8 or our own juniors, made their way to Mary Peters this weekend for the Ulster Chamionships. Needless to say the competition was of a very high standard. Congratulations to everyone for posting some genuinely outstanding performances in the early summer heat.
Special mention to Caoilann and Saul, the new champions of Ulster over 400m setting PB’s in the process. I’ve ran out of superlatives guys! Your years of dedication and determination are paying handsome returns and that’s saying something given how much you’ve put in. Saul also showed his class in the U17 800m claiming 2nd place on the podium having been just pipped for 1st place. Simply amazing and so fully deserved.
