NBH Race Report, 11th July – 18th July 2021

Due to the quiet holiday period, it’s quality over quantity this week with some Harriers taking to the hills.

 

Sat 17th July 2021:            Spelga Skyline Challenge

 The Spelga Skyline Challenge is an arduous race on open mountains first held in May 1981. It has gone from strength to strength ever since and remains one of the most challenging routes in the fellrunning circuit.

The route took in the most scenic summits in the Mourne Mountains: Slievenamuck  / Butter Mountain, Slieve Meelbeg,  Slieve Loughshannagh, Slieve Muck, Slievemoughanmore, Pierces Castle, Rocky Mountain, Hen Mountain and Cock Mountain.

The course was completed by two North Belfast Harriers – Martsje Hell and Simon Reeve. Well done to both!

A total of 55 North Belfast Harriers took part in 10 parkruns this week.

Congratulations to Mark McAvoy for being the first finisher in the Waterworks Parkrun.
