It may have been a little chilly, but the sun shone and the yellow and black harrier vests were out in great numbers today at Mallusk playing fields to participate in the annual Mathieson Cup & Shield cross country event organised by Mallusk Harriers. Not only is it an event on our doorstep but its always nice to support our neighbours at Mallusk Harriers who always support our own Laganside event each September in great numbers. National Even Cross Country Finals On Sunday morning many of our Junior Stags had an early start and set off on the M1 to Navan, County Meath for the 2023 National Uneven Championship Finals. After navigating the fog bound road on the way down and the ploughing field that was used for parking, our young runners assembled near the warmup area to get their race numbers and final preparations. A quieter week this week for our Juniors with just training and Parkruns to keep them busy. National Juvenile Indoor Championships – Athlone – Sunday 2nd April 2023 Excellent running and a new 800m PB for Caoilainn Curran at the national indoors today with a brilliant time of 2:29:50.
