May day Monday saw the Belfast Marathon take place in the city once again and many Harriers got involved to support the local event via the full race and the relay event. Belfast to Berlin

The weekend before the Belfast Marathon is often a quiet weekend with many of the club runners lining up for the full race or the relay event on offer on the bank holiday Monday. Titanic Week in Belfast

This week saw two of the biggest races in the country take place within Belfast in the form of the Queens 5k and the Titanic 10k both of which offer great PB potential. Queens 5k On Wednesday the 3rd of April the fast Queens 5k took place on the Lagan embankment. Juvenile Indoor Track & Field Championships

Four young Harriers made the long journey to Athlone at the weekend to compete in the All Ireland Indoor Championships. Three juniors had qualified for the 60m and first up was Caitlin Maguire who took a 10th of a second off her personal best to finish in 7th place in a time of 8.13 seconds in the U16 girls race. The very next race saw Micheal McGreevy finish 5th in new personal best time of 7.49 seconds in the U16 boys race. …

Masters at Cross Country

British Masters Cross Country On Saturday the British Masters Cross Country was held in Glasgow. The club sent over a top team in the form of Paul Elliott, Laurence Johnston and Jim Newberry and John Patience to compete in the M55 category and M45 categories of the competition. Laurence was the first of the M55 team to cross the line in a 47th position overall followed closely by Paul Elliott in 53rd enough to claim a third place finish in the M60 …

Brooks Armagh International Road Race Thursday night saw no fewer than 37 juniors make the trip to Armagh for the annual road races. First up was Sean Neilan, who at just 7 years of age finished 8th in his first race for the club to claim the first trophy of the night.
