McConnell Cup Cross Country

With the road running season drawing to a close, cross country has now emerged  as the main focus of the clubs runners. This Saturday saw the third installment in the Athletics NI Cross Country league with the well established McConnell Shield taking place. Belfast Day

We would just like to thank all the children, parents and coaches who attended ‘Belfast Day’ on Sunday 29th. This was a day designed to promote culture in Belfast organised by the Lord Mayor. The children demonstrated different activities and also encouraged members of the public to participate.

Gladys Gets Glasgow Standard

It’s another great weekend of racing for the club with multiple podiums, pbs and impressive performances. Berlin First up is Gladys Ganiel O’Neil. Gladys is the woman of the moment as she secured a new personal best over the marathon distance as well as bagging herself the Commonwealth standard for her efforts. Podiums places all round

The Harriers had another great week this week recording a total of eight race/category wins as well as some impressive personal best performances. Letterkenny 5k On Tuesday Conal McCambridge kicked off proceedings across the border in the Letterkenny 5k with Conal crossing the line in 1st position in a time of 17:01. Fast times in Fingal

Over 2000 runners took part this year in the Fingal 10k on Sunday. This event always attracts the best runners from throughout Ireland and four of our very best runners made the journey down to Swords and were all rewarded with great results. Andrew Considine knocked an amazing 30 seconds of his PB finishing in 16th position in a time of 33:18. Andrew was closely followed by Conor Curran who ran 6 seconds shy of his PB in 33:28 for 19th. Neil Carty’s podium hat-trick

Neil Carty has made it to the podium for a 3rd week in a row with an impressive performance at Thursday’s Hill and Dales Rocky race with a 3rd place finish in a time of 33:27. This was not Neil’s only podium this week as he also finished 3rd again in the 11 mile Flagstaff to Carlingford race held on Saturday.
