A busy week for the junior stags with training and races coming thick and fast in the heart of track season. First up was the Firmus meet at Mary Peters track on Thursday night.  This is a great series giving our young athletes a taste of various events like the hurdleshigh jump, and shot. Ulster Schools Cross Country The action came thick and fast this week starting off at a suprisingly mild Mallusk playing fields for the Ulster Schools Cross Country.  The junior stags competing had already qualified through their respective heats and now stood on the start line eyeballing eachother representing their schools rather than than being team mates  in the usual yellow vests.  The aim was to enjoy it and try if possible to hit top 15 for automatic qualification to the Irish Schools …

After the excitement of the All Ireland Championships last Sunday in Killkenney it was back to basics this week putting in the hard work for the months ahead.  Unfortunatley this was paired with storm Barra so Tuesday training was a complete wash out giving kids a well earned rest from Seamus’s blinding head torch.
