Loughshannagh Hill & Dale Race 8 – Thursday 11th June
Conor Doris continued his great form in the Hill & Dale race series this week, tackling what is considered the hardest test in the series. The route was a full-blown mountain affair taking in Carn, Doan, Loughshannagh and Ott resulting in over 800m elevation over an 8km distance. The recent damp weather also added to the difficulty, as marshy fields and slick, rocky sections had to be navigated with skill and patience. Conor claimed 12th place overall in a time of 49:54.9. Well done, Conor!

On the 10th anniversary of this ever-popular, non-profit race, Conor Fegan and Nicky Hagan journeyed to the town of Downpatrick to test their mettle over the 5k distance on this extremely flat and fast seven and a half lap course. This uniquely organised event allows participants to run at their chosen pace, as four race options are proposed with various finishing time brackets on offer.
Taking on his second 5k race in the space of three days, Conor Fegan was the first Harrier to cross the line as he finished in a swift 17:39, with Nicky Hagan displaying a strong performance to finish in 22:57.

Parkrun
This week 110 Harriers made their way to Parkrun destinations of their choosing, with some going the extra mile (or thousands of miles) to enjoy some Parkrun tourism in Finland, Germany and South Africa! A volunteer shout-out to Philomena Donaldson who completed her 200th volunteer role this weekend – the volunteers are truly the backbone of the Parkrun community.
