Storm Amy buffeted Ireland and northern parts of Britain causing the cancellation of numerous sporting events, including many races. However, as always members of North Belfast Harriers, undeterred by inclement weather, took advantage of whatever opportunities there were to test themselves against their peers on roads and parks locally and further afield.

Parkruns, Saturday 13th September
Locally the aftermath of Storm Amy left almost all of the Parkruns in this part of the island cancelled. However, there was a bumper turnout of runners at the couple of events left unaffected and there were many Harriers amongst the crowd.
Worth a special mention this week are Cathy Scullion, Zak Wilson, John Gerard Murphy, Ian Brennan, Matt Shields and Joanne Boal, who all recorded new PBs on their respective courses.
Well done to all those who participated, the runners and especially the volunteers, without whom the events could not be staged.
