Ballymena Belles 5m
The NBH ladies were in sparkling form on Tuesday evening in Ballymena with Debbie McConnell taking a fine win and Fionnuala O’Hare continuing her forward momentum with 3rd spot. In a field of 335 runners, April Clarke and Natasha Henderson also finished in the top 15 to ensure a comfortable team win for the harriers. And with Carol Clarke taking the F55 age category win and Gillian Roden in support it was a fine evening all round.

Hill and Dales
The hill and dales season got off to a fine start on Thursday evening with the first race of the 10 race series taking place in Castlewellan forest park. The route was about 9km with 320m of elevation. Martsje Hell again demonstrated her strength in the hills, winning the F35 category in 42:51, while Conor Doris took 13th place overall in 38:39.
Dublin to Belfast Ultra
Starting at noon on Friday outside the iconic St Jame’s Gate at the Guinness brewery in Dublin the 108 mile route took the runners via Drogheda, Dundalk, Newry and Lisburn to finish at the Europa hotel in Belfast. Weather conditions were reasonably kind as the 38 intrepid (some may say crazy) runners made their steady progress northwards. Greg McClure took on the event for the first time as a late entry following the cancellation of the Cowshed backyard ultra in Northumberland and came home in 16th place in a time of 28h19m57s.
Larne 10m Road Race
A large field of 666 runners tackled the spectacular coastal route on Saturday morning. The NBH ladies were again the stars of the show with Elisoa Crawford taking 2nd place in 1:03:51, and evergreen Louise Smith taking 3rd place in 1:04:33. Ryan Moore was the fastest of the NBH men, comfortably breaking the hour mark in 0:58:37.

Manchester Marathon
There were outstanding performances from the two NBH men who travelled to Manchester to join the other 22,000 runners for Sunday’s marathon. Nat Glenn ducked under the coveted 3-hr mark with 2:59:49 to take 13th place in the M55 category. Not far behind Thomas McLaughlin ducked under the 3:10 barrier with 3:09:26.
Zoo 5k
Monkstown Spartans annual Zoo 5k took place at Bellevue on Sunday morning around a challenging 2-lap course of just over 5km with around 140m of elevation. Nine harriers took part and highest placed was Zak Wilson who took 3rd place in 0:20:19.

One in the park: Hyde Park 10k
Joe Gallagher took the MV60 age category win in this one where a field of just over 100 runners enjoyed a 10k race around London’s beautiful Hyde Park. Joe recorded a time of 46:11.9.
