North Belfast Harriers Race Report 18th-24th December 2024 

In the mouth of Christmas, with many a runner, both young and old preparing for the festive weekend, not unsurprisingly the opportunities for racing were sparce. Nonetheless undeterred, members of North Belfast Harriers turned out in numbers, at local Parkruns and some venues further afield. Many participants were resplendent (if that’s the correct description) in festive attire, perhaps in dress rehearsal for the subsequent Parkrun on Christmas Day.  

As ever, Saturday’s Parkrunners enjoyed partaking in the camaraderie, craic and convivial collective engagement, that are at the core of every Saturday 5k Parkrun.  

Congratulations to Conor O’Rawe, who was a first finisher, Fionnuala O’Hare, Holly Collins and Martsje Hell, who were first females on their respective courses, Andrew Milligan, who was a second finisher, Leila Jones, who was a second female finisher, and Emily McRitchie and April Clarke, who were third female finishers. 

Worth a special mention also are Thomas Coy, Lucas Mooney, Niall Armstrong, Emily McRitchie, Alina Biskupska and Gillian Roden, who all set new PBs on their courses. 

Well done to all those who participated, the runners and especially the volunteers, without whom the events could not be staged.
