Autumn arrives with the start of the Cross Country and the Road Relays. Marathon season is also well underway and Harriers were well represented and successful across a range of events and distances this last week.
Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon 2023
On Saturday, the Irish Life Dublin Race Series continued with the Half Marathon around Phoenix Park. There is always a big turnout for this run ahead of the Dubin Marathon at the end of October. Bridget Johnson ran 2:47:22
NI and Ulster Road Relay Championships, Victoria Park, Belfast
Also, on Saturday there were some fast laps of Victoria Park being ran as teams of four participated in the annual Road Relays. The Masters Men’s team retained the title for the 3rd year in a row whilst the Senior Men’s team ran well for 6th place.

Armagh AC TJ McElmeel Cup XC
On Sunday, the cross-country season started with the opening round of the 2023/24 XC League in Armagh. The weather turned wet and windy but that didn’t deter a good turnout from the club. There was plenty of individual, team and personal success with overall wins, age category podiums and the retaining of the Men’s Team Trophy.

Berlin Marathon
Greg McClure made his annual autumnal pilgrimage to Germany and ran the Berlin Marathon on Sunday finishing in 4:19:20. Jason Reid also completed another continental marathon crossing the line in 4:44:28. Whilst Arran Rutledge broke the 3 hour mark with 2:59:20. Arran has now run sub 3 hours at four of the six World Marathon Majors.
European Masters Athletics Championships, Pescara, Italy.
David Clarke added another Masters title in the 1500m at the weekend becoming the M60 European Champion with 4:30:82
