Plenty of junior stags headed to Antrim Forum on Saturday too attempting to qualify for the All Ireland School championships. First up was the mini girls 800m and Cassie Curran placed 3rd in 2.32 getting her onto the podium and securing qualification to the big show. In the mini boys 800m Cormac and Thomas battled against a good field. Cormac placed 7th in a time of 2.30 with Thomas close behind in 12th in a time of 2.33.
In the intermediate girls 800m Caoilainn Curran had a cracking race placing in 8th and running a PB time of 2.27. Orlagh ran in the senior girls 800m placing 7th in a time of 2.57.
In the intermediate boys 800m race Saul stepped up in distance from his usual 100/200m sprints placing 8th in a time of 2.04. Last but no least was Hugo competing in the senior boys 1500m placing 4th in 4.11 narrowly missing out on Irish Schools qualification. Well done to all runners and great to see the schools benifiting from the graft the kids and NBH coaches put in.
