Victories for the North Belfast mens’ and ladies’ teams: 11.10.10 It was a weekend of victories all round for the North Belfast mens’ and ladies’ teams: The annual Armagh ten mile road race was first off on Sunday 10th October at 12 noon. In fine form, Breege Connolly led the ladies’ race comfortably from start to finish winning in a time of 60.44. 2nd in the ladies’ race was Anne Paul, from City of Derry, while Lisa Sturgeon was 3rd in 66.32. …
Opening Event of the Cross Country Season 19.09.10 North Belfast’s Juniors competed today in the opening event of the cross country season. Damian Marguess, Malachy McKenna & Fiona Bradley all finished 1st in their age groups with Conor McCambridge and Cliodhna McAteer 2nd and 3rd respectively in their age group. Great event enjoyed by all 05.09.10 Mild temperatures and a stiff breeze greeted the 769 entrants as North Belfast Harriers hosted the Spar Laganside 10k road race! The full compliment of prizes in all categories attracted a quality field to tackle the flat one and a half lap course! From the off a lead group of 8 men quickly detached themselves from the pack. 11th August 2010 Another town another race, next was the North Down Trail race, in the amazing Crawsfordburn Forest Park on the Gold Coast. The tough and hilly course was won by Paul Pollack in 16.22, Paul Blaney was 3rd overall and first M35 17.41, next was Paul Jenkins 18th/19.44 Jim Newberry 24th/20.27 and first M55, and Pauline Jenkins 98th/31.30 (and no corners or laps cut) well done to all for a great mid week race. 6th August On the road again, this time deep south (well Carlingford at least), several North Belfast Harriers travelled to this popular seaside village for the Carlingford 5km Road Race. The race was won by Shane Kerr from Armagh AC in 15.24.
